Seasonal Shortcuts

There are shortcuts that you can use to quickly create seasonal charts. These shortcuts will pre-populate the dialog for easily creating your charts.

S Function (Seasonal Dialog)

S@<Symbol>

Example: S@ICE

Results: ICE

Example: S@NGAS A0-EIA

Results: NGAS A0-EIA

Symbol continuation. Can be a stock, Platts, EIA, forex, etc

S<ContinuationFwdNum>@<Root>

Example: S1@BRN-ICE

Results: %BRN 1!-ICE

Example:S2@BRN-ICE

Results: %BRN 2!-ICE

Seasonal of a continuation symbol where user denotes the FwdNumber and Root

S<MonthCode><OptionalOffset>@<Root>

Example: SZ@BRN-ICE

Results: BRN Z18-ICE

Example: SQ1@HNG-IUS

Results: HGN Q19-IUS

SS Function (Seasonal Spread Dialog)

Function

Description

SS@<Symbol>"/"<Symbol>

Examples: SS@BRN- 1!-ICE/BRN- 2!-ICE

Results: BRN 1!-ICE - BRN 2!-ICE

A Seasonal spread expression of 2 symbols, can be be a stock, forex, continuation, etc

SS<ContFwdNum1><ContFwdNum2>@<Root>

Example: SS12@BRN-ICE

Results: %BRN 1!-ICE - %BRN 2!-ICE

Example: SS1/12@BRN-ICE

Results: BRN 1!-ICE - %BRN 12!-ICE

Note on Slash (/): If only 2 numbers are used we imply it is single digit fwd reference. If 3 or more digits are after SS, the function will error and user will be required to use the / to separate the fwd notation.

SS<MonthLetter><OptionalPickPrior><MonthLetter><OptionalPickPrior>@<Root>

Example: SSQV@BRN-ICE

Results: BRN Q18-ICE - BRN V18-ICE

Results: HNG Q21-IUS - HNG Q19-IUS

Note: The above result example is given contracts of this writing. Point is first root is 3 pick prior and second pick prior is 1.

SE Function (Seasonal Expression Dialog)

Function

Description

SE@<Expression>

Example: SE@'%BRN 1!-ICE' - '%BRN 2!-ICE'

Results: '%BRN 1!-ICE' - '%BRN 1!-ICE'

A seasonal of an expression. This would be any expression, just like you would put in the expression field in the Seasonal expression dialog.

Defaults when using shortcuts

You can always change these settings when your dialog opens up, but the following are the defaults for the different shortcuts.

Year Range: Ends at Current Contract Expiration

SE<Expression>

Year Range: Ends at Current Contract Expiration, if No expiration, then use Year Range: Jan 1 - Dec 1
